Twelve students of LKSEC represented the school in the 6th ALL INDIA MAJOR JAGPAL MEMORIAL JUNIOR INTER PUBLIC SCHOOL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT 2015 which was held at Pinegroove School, Solan, Himachal Pardesh from 16th to18th April, 2015. The students performed exceeding well and we were Winner of the 6th ALL INDIA MAJOR JAGPAL MEMORIAL JUNIOR INTER PUBLIC SCHOOL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT 2015 Trophy.
The students who brought laurels to themselves and school are Rohit Choudhary, Rohan Jaiswal, Dishant Rana, Tushar Nekub, Harsh Bharti, Hritik Neyol, Yuvaras Siag, Shreyans, Sumit Jadeja, Neil Patel, Purab Khawal and Sohil Agarwal.
Mrs. Sushma Arora, Vice President of school and Mr. R. C. Joshi, Principal and Mr. P R Kumar, Vice Principal congratulated all the students and their coach Mr. D S Redu for their extraordinary performance on such a grand scale.

Lalitha Kanwar! The name itself reminds all of us the time that was enough to justify our efforts in the welfare of the society. She was admitted to class 6th in 2001 and she topped school in AISSC Examination 2011 in humanities stream and now she has made us all proud by being the lieutenant. The time that never waits for anyone waits for those who always stand to make the mark on the firmament of achievements. Well done!
From the uncertain toddler steps, the school is on the way to confident adulthood and this ripple effect is positively affecting the lives around here in Gotan. From the members of the management, staff to our students – everyone is very involved in social service. We had dispensed our honourable duty to salute the martyrs of Kargil by instituting LK Singhania Education Sansthan Soldier Family Fund with a corpus of Rs. 30 lakhs. It is with the support of this fund that children bereft of fathers during the Kargil War have been and are being given education.
Lalitha Kanwar (School ID No. 01162) whose father too had a similar fate proved her mettle through her academics that got support of financial help from the LK Singhania Sansthan Soldiers Family Beneficiary Fund.
Education, at our school LK Singhania Education Centre, is not the privilege for the rich minorities. It works on the ethos of the upliftment of the societally marginalized masses. It was the reiteration of the management to develop competence amongst the children, particularly girl children to address their aim to make the Indian society a knowledge superpower.

Just before the board exams ROHIT GOEL of class XII Commerce has marked his presence in the LEVEL 2 examination of the International Informatics Olympiad (iiO) 2014 by clinching the TOP position. He will be awarded with a Cash prize of Rs. 51,000. He has also qualified for the LEVEL 3 exam, which will be held at New Delhi.
Congratulations and best wishes for grand success in future.

Parents often wonder what parenting is all about. As there are so many variables in each person’s personality and behaviour, there is no single right or wrong way of bringing up a child. Each person’s past life determines his present concepts of parenting.
A parent is constantly on a journey of exploration. The pathway is cobbled with problems, surprises, complications and joys. However, each parent has a common goal of developing a better relationship with the child. Most parents are flattered and feel a sense of control when their child emulates them. But what about the time when you do not clearly see yourself in the child? As a parent you have certain expectations of how your child should behave, but his or her behaviour may not model your own. Your child may not behave in a way that you deem appropriate. His or her choices may be different from yours.
This shatters many parents.
By making fewer emotional demands, you will be able to get other needs met by your child. If you push your child against the wall, you will face resistance and defiance.
Letting her find her own way is often difficult, but it comes with long term rewards of trust and love.
Loving and concerned parents at times get disappointed when their growing children become independent and self-sufficient.
These are healthy signs.
You have to raise your children to be independent and emotionally self-sufficient, but at the same time loving and caring towards you.
The individuality of children needs to be respected.
If children differ from parents who have constantly and selflessly nurtured them or made sacrifices for them, they should not feel let down and neither should this lead to conflict in the relationship.
For as Kahlil Gibran has written-
‘Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you.
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.

The 66th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at LK Singhania Education Centre, Gotan on 26th January 2015. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to upholding the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is “ India”.
President Mr. B K Arora and Vice President Ms. Sushma Arora graced the occasion with their presence and hoisted the national flag along with the Principal Mr. R C Joshi.
The students dispersed after snacks with the image of the fluttering tricolor in their minds.

2nd October 2014: Moving ahead on the path of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi and one of the legendary Prime Minister Shri lal Bahadur Shastri, students and staff of LKSEC gave their contribution ine the drive of cleaniliness in the school premisis. Students of various houses gave their contribution to clean the surrounding of their respevtive houses and school premisis under the guidence of their House Masters and Mentors. On the other hand Principal Mr. R.C.Joshi led the teachers to clean the area near both the lecture theatres (XI & XII).
Earlier Gandhi & Shastri Jayanti was celebrated in the Senior School Assembly area. Stuents along with the music teachers enchanted the bhajans like ‘Vaishnav Jan To, Tene Kahiye Je’, ‘He Ram, He Ram…’, Alah Tero Nam…’ etc. which filled the environment with a feeling of piouness and humaniity. On the occasion students gave speeches that highlighted the contributions of Mahatma Gandhi and Sh. Lal Bahadur Shastri. Mr. Pranay Kumar, informed the students about the importance of cleanliness and asked the stdents to make their surrounding clean and contribute their efforts in the Clean India drive of our Prime Mister Sh. Narendra Modi.
Principal Mr. R.C.Joshi gave his greetings on this auspicious day and said that this day is just not the birth days of two great leaders, it is the day on which we not only have to rejuvenate our efforts to make our nation ahead in terms of self dependence but also we have to give our best to regain the title of ‘Vishwa-Guru.’ He requested the staff and teachers to give their best in all spheres of life and on only then we will able to create a serene environment around us. He suggested all to give at least two hours in a week for the cleanliness drive in the school. His suggestion was whole heartedly accepted by the students and pledged that they will do their best to keep their surrounding clean and hygenic.

Ms. Asmita and Ms. Shanna Jain participated in the 26th W.C. Kashyap Memorial English Debate 2014 at Pestleweed College, Dehradoon. The Debate Competition was between 16 schools. The topic of the debate was Social Media – Boon or Bane, in which Asmita spoke in favour of the topic while Shanna Jain gave her views against the Social media. Both the speakers captivated the audience.
Ms. Shanna was considered as the best orator and clinched the first prize, on the other hand Asmita entralled with her views and bagged third Runner prize. Ms. Shanna, also was the winner of the Debate Competition also received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/-.

Twelve enthusiastic performers of LKSEC represented the school in the IPSC Cultural Fest held at Mayo College Girls’ School from 19th and 20th September 2014. The students performed exceeding well in Folk Dance, Choreography, Western Dance and Solo Dance. We were winners in Choreography and Western Dance, got third position in Folk Dance and got consolation prize in Solo Classical Dance. Chief Guest of the function was Ms. Uma Sharma, a prominent Kathak Dancer who is also decorated with prestigious Padma Bhushan by Government of India.
Over all we were the winner of the IPSC Cultural Festival Trophy.
The students who brought laurels to themselves and school are Nikita Chandak, Saloni Bharti Singh, Riya Singh, Radha Agrawal, Sunita Deelwal, Pooja Singh, Nishta Vaswani, Arihant Jain, Gaurav Khelwani, Utsav Barandwal, Keshav Agrawal and Sunita Deelwal.
The theme of Choreography performed by our students was Nirbhya – based on crushing of women in general and their empowerment. The performance of the students raised the consciousness of the young generation specially women towards such heinous crimes and raising their voice against the sexual and patriarchal violence they had been taught to tolerate as inevitable.
The Folk Dance was a colourful Chhau Dance of Orissa, known for its grace, vigour and vitality. It is a dance originated from the mock – fights of the solders. The dance essentially marital and folk in nature was performed by mainly by soldiers to keep themselves physically fit. he students performed the mock –fight with groups of soldiers rhythmically fighting with each other with sword and shields, to the accompaniment of a band of musical instruments, mainly percussion.
The western Dance was performed in the most energetic manner on free hip-hop style that rocked the audience. Kathak was performed by Nishta Vaswani in the Solo Classical Dance category and she got words of praise by everyone.
Mrs. Sushma Arora, Vice President of school and Mr. R.C.Joshi, Principal congratulated all the students and their mentors for their extraordinary performance on such a grand scale.

Twelve students from LKSEC participated in the Silver Jubilee Memorial Inter School English, Hindi Debates, Quiz & Multimedia Presentation that held from 22nd to 24th September 2014 at Mayo College Girl’s School Ajmer.
Saksham Garg, Dikshita Nakra and Bhumkia Joshi outshined all with their exemplary skills and grabbed the pole position in the Multimedia Presentation Competition. On the other hand PADMANK BHUSHAN TIWARI, NIKHIL BAGHLA and RICHPAL MEHRIYA strolled into the final round in the Quiz Competition. They settled for the fourth position. Mohit Agarwal, RAKSHIT JAMAD and RAKSHITA RATHORE participated in English Turn Coat Debate Cum Extempore Competition, while PRAKASH PUNIYA, RISHABH BAFNA and RAVIJA BHARDWAJ participated in the Hindi Quiz and marked their presence.
It was a wonderful experience for all the students as the competition was a great stage for representing themselves.

Teachers Day at LK Singhania Education Centre, Gotan was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm. The day started with giving a tribute to Dr. Saravpalli Radhakrishnan. The day had an emotional and recreational touch. The students did all the preparations with complete energy and excitement. There were various games for the teachers and the students also performed various dances. Principal, Mr. R C Joshi congratulated the teachers on the eve of the Teachers Day.

LKSEC celebrated its 27th Annual Prize Giving Ceremony on 3rd September 2014 by felicitating the meritorious students along with colourful display of cultural programmes. Former Police Commissioner of Mumbai & Member of Parliament Dr. Satyapal Singh graced the occasion as the chief guest. Dr. Satyapal Singh was welcomed in the safa ceremony by Mr. B.K.Arora, president JK White Cement Works while Mrs. Sushma Arora greeted him and his wife with bouquet.
Mr. R.C. Joshi, Principal welcomed the chief guest, guest of honor, parents and all the dignitaries present on the 27th Annual Prize Giving Ceremony. He praised the interminable efforts of Mr. B.K.Arora & Mrs. Sushma Arora which resulted into the growth of such an institution. In his annual report he mentioned the performance of the students in various classes with special emphasis on board classes where 17 students got 10 CGPA in X standard and 10 students scored over 90 % in class XII. He also mentioned the achievements made by the students in various sports and co-curricular activities on various platforms. Over 125 students marked their presence on district level and number of students represented the school at state and national levels in various sports. Students also made the school proud in various co curricular activities by getting positions in various IPSC events. The school stood first in English Literary Quiz while in Hindi Quiz and Drama we stood second and first respectively. He also stated that Vice President Mrs. Sushma Arora was honored by the ‘Excellency in Peace Education Award’ while HRD Minister admired 15 teachers by proving them with certificates.
A grand school orchestra comprising 107 students in guidance of their mentors presented an extraordinary harmony on the theme Jai ho- a song by Rahman on 28 various instruments. It was followed by the magnificent school band display on the theme song ‘Colonel Bogi’, ‘Almora March’ and ‘Bol radha Bol…’ by 25 students in their colourful dress.
On this occasion unveiling of school magazine was done by the chief guest Dr. Satyapal Singh along with Mr. B.K.Arora President, Mrs. Sushma Arora Vice-President, Mr. R.C. Joshi Principal, Mr.P.R. Kumar Vice-Principal, Mr. A.K.Mishra Headmaster Senior, Mr. D.P.Singh Headmaster Middle, Mr. S.B.Choudhary (HoD I.T.), Mr. Shanhar Nath (HoD – English ) and Mr. Pranay Kumar (HoD – Hindi).
In his speech the chief guest praised both the programmes wholeheartedly. He said that the education takes people on the righteous path and to bring equality within the society in the chief aim of the education. To achieve the goal we must try to lead a healthy life style and inspire others to do the same.
After a brief break, the cultural show began with ‘Saraswati Vandana’ by 17 girl students on the tune of Taal, Adi Taal, Teen Taal and Karwaha Taal. It was followed by the most entertaining dance of film songs by the tiny-tots of the school on the theme ‘Old is Gold’. These kids gave amazing dance performance on the song ‘Khaike Paan Banares wala’, ‘Hum Kale Hue to Kya hua…’, ‘Ude Jab Jab zulfeen tere…’and ‘Mera Juta hai Japani..’ It was followed by the fusion dance on Ganesh Chaturthi. The audience praised wholeheartedly the beautiful choreography. Women today feel very unsafe today and the time has come to the women to oppose injustice and discrimination within the society. Choreography on ‘Nirbhaya’ depicted the theme in the most imposing manner and got a standing ovation from all. The last performance was dance performance on the theme Jai ho…..indicating successful India. All the people in the pandal swayed on the musical dance performance of the students. By the end of the performance all the 300 participants assembled on the stage and everyone admired the performance of one and all.
The programme was anchored by Saijal Jain, Sanna Jain, Drisha Menon, Titash Rai, Yamini Saraf, Prachi Singh and Tarun Yadav.
